Hitting The Road/Destinations?

I’m leaving for tour tomorrow morning.  The dates/cities are listed below.  If you’ve got any good suggestions for some must-visit destinations, drop a line in the comments.  Anything really…museums, shops, good eats, sight-seeing, etc.  It’s somewhat of a B market tour, so there’s a lot of more obscure cities, but I’m sure there’s lots of great things/places to visit.  I’ve been around the country and back countless times but I know there’s still so much to be seen.

The tour kicks off with two days in Atlanta, so I’m definitely going to try and make it to Sid Mashburn.  I think it’s going to be a bit dressy for my taste, but I’ve heard an earful from more than one person about how amazing the shop is.

Last time you where in st. louis i waited for you to return from your bike trip around the loop so i could get a autograph. I would say a great spot you could waste hours in would be the City Museum. It’s not what you think, google it and look at there web site. It’s a great place. If you head there i would love to “bump” into you.

  2. Graceland too. Holly springs, Ms. Look It up. Amazing.

  3. Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas:

    1610 E. Tropicana, Las Vegas NV 89119

It’s the largest collection of pinball machines in the world. Free entry and so many awesome games to play.

  4. You guys really ought to be coming to Virginia. I almost went to the show in Richmond when you were there last year with Brand New, but I hadn’t really listened to Brand New much. Since they were the headliners, I passed, but I really regret that decision now.

  5. athens, ga is only a little over an hour away from atlanta. birth place of REM and the B52s and many other great bands. also, the restaurants are incredible. if you have to stay in atlanta, i would go to the virginia highlands area!

  6. If you have a chance to stop between Billings and Spokane, the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman is having a Goya exibit. It has a nice collection of dinosaur bones, Native American artifacts, as well as pioneer-era exhibit.

Also, in Billings, Siam Thai‎ (3210 Henesta Drive) is rumored to be good Thai food (if you like that sort of thing). Montana-good not California-good, mind you.

  7. no mid atlantic or northeast? missing out!

  8. You should go to Graceland Too when ya’ll come to Oxford. It is in Holly Springs, MS. It is nuts. Open 24/7. World’s biggest Elvis Presley fan.

  9. Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, CA

…On second thought, that’s not funny to joke about. Stay away. Far away.

  10. Main Street in Ventura, CA has changed a lot in the past few years. I used to live up there; don’t get up there too often anymore, but every time I do I always enjoy the walk around the lower part, towards the mission.

  11. Big Basin in the Santa Cruz mountains is one of my favorite hiking spot. This is probably unrealistic with your schedule, but if not I do recommend!

  12. will you be stopping through in Portland on your way down to Eugene?
If so, I have some spots for you to check out…

    let me know.
    have fun

  13. Can’t believe you’ll be here in Oxford at the Lyric–
